Why get your device certified with Works with QuickSet?

Quickset is already powering many of world's most popular TVs, set-top boxes, game consoles and smartphones for entertainment control, and expanding with a growing range of smart home use cases. As the consumer focus shifts to hybrid use cases in the smart home, certifying a smart home or entertainment device with QuickSet gives the manufacturer a tremendous opportunity to expand their product compatibility and offerings into new channels.

What does Works with QuickSet certification signify?

Works with QuickSet certification ensures the product has passed our strict testing, reliability and functional standards. Once certified to work with QuickSet, consumers can enjoy the best smart home experience and have peace of mind the devices will seamlessly work with millions of QuickSet powered devices.

Who can apply?

Any consumer electronic device manufacturer that supports one of multiple of the following communication methods:

IP

IP stands for Internet Protocol. If your device supports IP connectivity either through Ethernet or Wi-Fi then we should be able to discover and control your device over a local area network or through cloud APIs. We would need the authentication details and an API specification for accessing the device features.

ZigBee

Zigbee is an IEEE 802.15.4 based specification designed for low power, low data rate applications used for home automation. If your product is Zigbee certified using one of the standard profiles, we should be able to discover and provision it.

HDMI

HDMI (High-Definition Multimedia Interface) is an audio/video interface for transmitting uncompressed video data and compressed or uncompressed digital audio data. We would ensure the device is automatically detectable and compatible when used with leading set-top box or Smart TV platforms.

IR

IR (Infrared) controlled devices can be submitted by manufacturers  to ensure the device is added to our device knowledge graph. Once the device has been added to our device knowledge graph, you will receive a notification.

How can I get my device certified with QuickSet?

In order to certify your device, first review the Program Guidelines and then visit the certifying your device page to submit the request to join the program. We will review your request and get back to you shortly.

How long will it take to get my product certified?

The certification process typically takes about 2 months. Please keep in mind the certification may get delayed if there are missing items, or if the product fails a certain test or requirement.

How long is the certification valid?

The works with QuickSet certification is valid for 18 months.

How much is the fee for works with QuickSet certification?

The certification fee depends on the type of product being certified, and the level of testing effort required. More details can be found in the partner portal.

Why is there a fee for the Works with QuickSet program?

When we undertake a certification request, we allocate engineering and program management resources. Our teams spend a considerable amount of time ensuring your product meets the requirements and the fee is only to help offset a portion of that cost.
